Barell is the grandfather of Roll Casquet. Though now retired as a Digouter, Barell continues his search for the Great Legacy as the main advisor of the Casquet Family, providing Rock and Roll with his vast knowledge from many years of experience.

Before he became better known as the professor of Ancient Technology, he was a very strong Digouter who has earned the nicknames "Barell The Invincible" and "The Living Legend".


Personality

Barell is a headstrong man who has accumulated decades of experience and knowledge during his active years as both a Digouter and Researcher in Ancient Technology. Though this has contributed to giving him a reputation of being rather arrogant and overbearing, Barell is actually a calm and wise man who is more than willing to share his knowledge with others (at least most of the time).

Barell is particularly caring for his remaining family members: his granddaughter Roll, and his foster grandchild Rock. Having lost his daughter and son-in-law many years ago, Barell is understandably protective of the last remaining Casquet.

Not letting his age slow him down, Barell remains energetic and persistent in keeping an active role in the family's adventures.


Skills & Abilities

Barell is most known for his extensive knowledge and experience regarding the ancient ruins and technologies; both topics which remained a mystery among most social circles. His contributions include the publication of various study papers and theories regarding these ancient remains, and how it may have some relation with the origins of Terra and its people.

In addition to the above, he also has a great amount of understanding of scientific and practical subjects including mechanical engineering, sociology, and biology (to a lesser extent than the other examples).

It is implied that during his youth, he was also an exceptional Digouter who was known to always prevail despite being against improbable odds. His exploits have earned himself various titles and nicknames from those he worked with; two main examples being "Barell The Invincible" and "The Living Legend".

Though now, Barell is shown to be using a walking cane at times, perhaps as a sign that his age has caught up to him despite his spirit being strong as ever...

  • "Barell" was deliberately spelt differently from the commonly-accepted "Barrel" and "Barrell" for pronunciation purposes; specifically in order to make him name pronounced similar to Superman's father "Jor-El".
